In-Person Workshop: Montessori Dementia Training – Principles and Practices for Daily Connection

October 1 & 2, 2025 | Barrie, Ontario | Only 15 Seats Available (Early Bird Rate Expires July 25, 2025)

Experience It Live.

Empowering Dementia Care in Canada: Exclusive Training Rooted in Research and Results

This rare, in-person workshop brings the Montessori Inspired Lifestyle® to life in a way no online session can.

Over two powerful days, you’ll gain the skills, insights, and confidence to make care more engaging, respectful, and person-centered — one interaction at a time.

In 1995, Dr. Cameron J. Camp, PhD, a psychologist, modified Dr. Maria Montessori’s educational method to meet the needs of older adults with cognitive impairment. Since then, this adaptation—now known as the Montessori Inspired Lifestyle®—has become a global model.

Here’s what participants will gain:

First, a deeper understanding of dementia through a strengths‑based lens.

Next, tools to engage individuals meaningfully.

Finally, strategies for managing challenging behaviors effectively.

This session, led by an AMI-trained Montessori teacher and dementia practitioner  is an immersive experience that includes:

✅ Real-life case studies
✅ Hands-on group activities
✅ Communication strategies that work
✅ Practical tools to reduce distress and increase purpose
✅ A supportive learning environment — limited to 15 participants
✅ Lunch and refreshments included both days
✅ Certificate awarded

Who Should Attend this In-Person Montessori Dementia Training?

This training is ideal for:

  • Long-term care and assisted living staff
  • Recreation and activity professionals
  • Home and community care providers
  • Program coordinators and care leads
  • Anyone seeking meaningful connection in dementia care

Why In Person Montessori Dementia Training?

Because presence matters. This workshop isn’t just about learning — it’s about feeling the difference that Montessori can make.

“…They made this fun, informative, and made me want to take part in these sessions…”

“…insightful and practical. I appreciate the emphasis on individual rather than their cognitive impairment…”

(more trainee feedback here)

Step away from the day-to-day. Join a small group of passionate professionals and return with tools you can use immediately — and a renewed sense of purpose.

Our online training sessions are effective and efficient and they deliver strong foundational value—but in-person training offers a richer return: immersive learning, and deeper insight, stronger dialogue, and the kind of strategic networking that only happens face-to-face – the opportunity to connect with peers who are equally invested in driving change.

Empowering Dementia Care in Canada: Exclusive Training Rooted in Research and Results

We’re proud to be the exclusive Canadian licensee of the renowned Center for Applied Research in Dementia (CARD), bringing the impactful training developed by Dr. Cameron Camp directly to care professionals across the country.

Dr. Camp’s approach, rooted in Montessori-based principles, transforms the way we engage with individuals living with dementia. His evidence-based methodology doesn’t just teach techniques — it fosters a culture shift in how we view ability, dignity, and purpose in dementia care.

Why This Training Matters

This training offers more than education — it delivers practical tools that empower staff and organizations to improve care outcomes, engagement, and job satisfaction.

Key Highlights:

🧠 Research-Backed Methods: Based on decades of cognitive psychology and clinical studies, Dr. Camp’s work has proven success in improving the quality of life for individuals living with dementia.

🌍 Global Recognition: Montessori-Based Dementia Programming® (MBDP®) is used in care communities worldwide. We’re proud to be the only source for its delivery in Canada. The MBDP® model was developed and trademarked by Dr. Cameron J. Camp, a psychologist and gerontologist, and his team at the Center for Applied Research in Dementia.

🙌 Strength-Based Approach: Rather than focusing on deficits, the training teaches how to engage remaining abilities and foster independence.

💡 Immediate Application: Participants walk away with strategies they can apply immediately — from designing activity stations to modifying the environment to support memory and autonomy.

🔐 Exclusive Access: This training is only available in Canada through our licensing agreement with the Center for Applied Research in Dementia — offering Canadian organizations a unique opportunity to align with globally recognized best practices.
